Very interesting reading on the VOWS website. Lots of good questions being asked about our dues. Why is one moderator in particular (who states she hasn't lived here long) answering all the questions as if she's the authority? Where is the moderator getting all her information?

I havent read the other website in a couple of days, but just looked. It seems like I know which mod your talking about, but I am not sure what answers that person has given that are not common knowlege. It doesn't take a person of any authority to answer most questions, especially if the answer is a resounding "call the developer we do not know".
It does seem like the one asking the questions hasn't bothered to look up previously asked and answered questions. None of these subjects are new news, and from what I've seen have been answered. Even more in depth since Pauline addressed the foundation yesterday.
Are we referring to the same posts?

What does the post two above this one have to do with "Creative Suggestions...?" That post is obviously a complaint about the woodlandsprings.com website - there are no suggestions provided to better the community nor comments on suggestions others have made. Why do positive threads have to be turned negative?

What does the post two above this one have to do with "Creative Suggestions...?" That post is obviously a complaint about the woodlandsprings.com website - there are no suggestions provided to better the community nor comments on suggestions others have made. Why do positive threads have to be turned negative? Your right. Honostly I didnt even notice what the topic was after I read that post. I just reacted to it. I Wish I could delete it, as it doesnt have a thing to do with making this a better place to live. Here is my creative suggestion for making Woodlandsprings even greater than it is right now! I would love to see VOWS do more activities as a community. The fall fest was great, but wouldnt it be fun to have block parties? Perhaps advertise what each individual section will be doing for thier block party that month. Like the Woods could do a party in March, the Hills in April, Sugar groves in May, and so forth. This way everyone has a chance to meet and greet our nieghbors with a nice block party. It could be door to door or a centrally located section of the nieghbor hood. All the nieghbors could pitch in like 10 dollars to help pay for stuff (like a margarita machine, or bounce house etc) and bring food. Not just stuff for kiddos either, adults need some fun! Am i just dreaming wishful dreams ?

I'm all for a community center/clubhouse. I have lived in differnt subdivisions that have at least 1 olympic size pool with marked lanes. We had different swim teams and competed with surrounding subdivisions. It was good, clean fun. We had a beautiful clubhouse that could be rented out for private functions or, used for community activities. There were lots of those. We had reliable lifeguards and somehow, very few people abused the number of guests allowed. It sounds all nice and rosey. It pretty much was. We may not be able to swing the olympic size pool, but maybe the clubhouse? If they can do it, why can't we? Let's all get our heads together and figure it all out. Maybe we need to go talk to some people at existing, successful communities. Can we get a volunteer 'group' going for this? It could work! Wouldn't it be great fun?
As for the roads, It would be great if we could get them improved. That would REALLY improve our community. We are pretty much going to have to stand on our heads, aka demonstrate. I know of one that is already being planned. Sorry. I can't say anything on here for fear of it being foiled. We should have many demonstrations. That is just about the only way to get things done, anymore. We can continue to voice our opinions at every level of the government, whether it be city, state or, federal. They just keep pointing fingers at the guy sitting next to them! Let's get off our butts and show them we mean business. I don't know about you guys, but I have children that don't live 2 miles from the new schools so can't ride the bus. I would NEVER let them walk or ride a bike down Keller-Hicks, even now. Much less when the traffic goes berzerk next school year! What's it going to take? A child being killed? Let's do something proactive and really let someone know we arent' kidding around. It would improve the VOWS, as well.
More community activities. Yeah!!! How about a Valentine's activity. Can't think of one right off the top of my head but, I'm sure one of you can come up with one. What about an Easter Egg hunt? Do we already do that one? What about a summer family picnic. Everyone can bring in their own food and drink, we can have old fashioned booths, like face painting, balloon pop, egg on a sthingy races and, my personal fave, kissing booth! LOL Kinda like an old timey fair. We could even do stuff like baking contests, ......you get the idea.
Jeez....looks like I need to open my own web site! ROFLOL I love this community. Let's getting it rockin' and a rollin'!
OK. Off my soap pedestal. I think these things could really make a wonderful change in our neighborhoods.
