There are two public meetings to review the proposed KISD boundary changes for the 2006-2007 school year: Nov. 17, 6:00-9:30 p.m. Dec. 1, 6:00-9:30 p.m. Both meetings are at the Fossil Ridge High School Auditorium. If you are unable to attend one of the public meetings, you can provide input by e-mailing boundaryfeedback@kellerisd.net. The proposed boundary changes that will affect VOWS residents who live in the Keller school district are: - VOWS west of Park Vista will attend the new elementary school on Bray Birch - All of VOWS will attend the new intermediate and middle schools on Keller-Hicks. Note that the article in this morning's Star-Telegram incorrectly noted the dividing line for VOWS residents (it stated Alta Vista instead of Park Vista) You can view the maps here

Navy I am fairly happy with the school situation but like you I think KISD is going to create a traffic nightmare through no fault of their own.

Not all of VOWS will attend the new schools; because not all of VOWS is inside KISD. The Far west side of VOWS is NWISD.

"The proposed boundary changes that will affect VOWS residents who live in the Keller school district ..." Also, the title of the thread is Proposed KISD Boundary Changes.

...I was/am making a statement of your own words. See above. Why does everything have to parsed to the nth degree here? I post useful information that applies to a majority of the residents and this is the response? Take the post for its intended purpose, which is to inform people about proposed changes in KISD. Residents should know which school district they are in. Yes, we know that most of the west side is in NISD. If you want to get technical, the KISD boundary map shows anyone living south/east of Timberland is in KISD - see for yourself www.kellerisd.net/0506boundarmaps.pdfI'll lighten up when I can post community information without it being subjected to a magnifying glass.

Residents should yes;however, the sign at Timberland and 35W says onsite schools. Yet not everyone has onsite schools. So while a resident should know, they rely on the authority to tell them which is the school district. Heck they can't get it straight!

that seems to be an issue of false advertising from your builders not the school district. The school district has nothing to hide and knows whats straight. You have nothing to do with keller isd on the west side so its not up to KISD to explain much to you. NWISD shouldnt have anything to hide either. If you look on the other site, NAVY85 does show that some schools will be built for NWISD in the next year or so almost in the community, no more than a mile or so away from VOWS west subdivision.

You have nothing to do with keller isd on the west side so its not up to KISD to explain much to you. Dr. James R. Veitenheimer, KISD Superintendent is most qualified to affirm that the children on the west side of VOWS do in fact attend KISD, while some do not. I assume you don't live on the West Side, or do you? Yes, some kids on the West Side do attend KISD; while others attend NWISD.

then I guess I'm confused as to what the issue is. But does it matter. What navy posted was to the people who's children attend kisd. And for that we should thank him for enlightening us.

What happened home builders and real estate people were misinformed about school boundrys. They were telling some people the houses where in KISD when in fact some are, some are not and some are a mix of the two. There are some homeowners who bought and then found out they are in NWISD not KISD. I was told by several home builders that VOWS went to KISD period. I did my homework and had a good real estate agent. He made sure we bought in KISD. Navy just posted what he knows. There is no need to shoot the messanger.

I was not shooting the messenger. Yes, his information is good. Don't we want all the information? If there is more to it, people should share, that we did.

this is from the vows website, if your not banned you should see it fine if you go there, there is even a NWISD seperate forum. (this is from 4stamps aka navy85) This forum topic is for VOWS residents who reside within the Northwest Independent School District boundaries. Below is a map of proposed schools and sites to be purchased as a result of the Oct 2005 $224.5 million bond package approval by NISD voters.
