I have yet to see them deny anyone access.
Just as the woodlandsprings website you have to sign up to join also. Just as the woodlandsprings website if the moderators don't like you you get banned. They are the same; yet the yahoo website has never banned anyone that I know of. Yet, I know of many people whom have been banned by woodlandsprings.com.
So with that said, shouldn't the other be "redicolous" as you say?

I went to this link and you have to ask permission from the Moderator to join this group?!?!? So basically, whoever the Moderator is, if he/she doesn't like you, you can be denied access?!!?!? Talk about rediculous! I tried to access www.woodlandsprings.com and it stated "You must be registered to view these boards. Register" Can you participate without being a registered user?

Yes, you do have to sign up to post in the VOWS website - but not ask permission. And, no, I do not think the VOWS moderators shouldn't be called ridiculous. The posters banned from the VOWS site were done so for breaking the forum rules- whether that be by making personal attacks, vulgarity, or what have you. Rules are in place for a reason and there are repercussions for breaking them. I have never once, nor will I ever, complained or said that it is ridiculous that the moderators do what they do and ban people - on the contrary, I commend them for what they are doing!! So far, I have agreed with those posts they have deleted and those they have banned. Now, those that have been banned may see that as "I was just banned because this moderator doesn't like me". But I am confident and certain that is not the case, rules were continuously broken, therefore, the poster(s) were banned.
As for this other site you posted, I'm glad to hear that they haven't denied anyone access. Maybe I'll check it out sometime!

Those of you who just signed up under your real names have said repeatedly that you don't like the "bad apples" as you so often refer to us, and are glad we aren't posting on the VOWS website. Why then would you come over here to this website when the very people who all don't like are on here? We all have our own opinions. You should keep yours on the VOWS website and we'll keep ours on this one. It would be nice if we posted under our names from the other site, or at least pick something that can is original. For instance were the last 3 posts by the same "guest" or several guests? By the way, who are the "none of us" that will no longer post here? Why is that? Is it because the poster who was just banned deserved to stay and curse us out? To trash our community? This is nflguys site, and kudos to him for not allowing that sort of abuse, it was childish and uncalled for. I don't really know what everyone else's opinion is, but I know I love my community and am extremely proud to live here. I worked hard to buy this house, and work hard to pay for it. I wanted to raise my son in a great community with lots of kids and nice neighbors. For the most part all of my wishes for what I wanted out of a community have come true. The things that haven't are trivial and can be completed later (amenity center etc). I DO not understand how so many can be so miserable living in a great place as this is. Do you EVEN know how blessed you people are? Drive out of our little section on earth and take a look around. You are truly blessed!!! Right now I have a friend who is spending the "day" sleeping in my guest room. She lives in a tiny house all the way in Corsicana, because as a single mother and nurse that is the only place she can afford to buy a home and send her children to college. This woman drives all the way to Dallas to work. Almost a 4 hour round trip with rush hour. Imagine that. She walks in to what is probably a run of the mill house here and thinks I'm the luckiest woman on earth. You know, I just could be.....I sure don't live in the ghetto...yup, I am blessed all right. Some of the posters here and on the other site just look for things to pick at. Battles to fight that aren't all that important. Little things get blown up into huge (and often not important) things. Who cares who "owns" the website? Will our houses get sucked into a black hole if they build an upper scale apartment complex nearby ( I dont like apartments, but lets work on alternatives or a plan instead of just complaining)? Do I care who owns the name woodland springs? The list is endless. Sure some of these topics are worthy of a discussion and plans of action that are constructive plans of action, but come on...some of it is just stupid! Is it worth making enemies of your own neighbors? Is it worth dragging your OWN community thru the mud??? My gosh I lived in a small older very established neighborhood before moving here and EVERY one got along. We watched out for each others children, houses, animals. We helped each other when our neighbor needed help. There never was a bunch of back biting. This place likes to battle for some reason. I can be guilty also. I don't like to instigate, but sure my buttons get pushed and I react..... But why is there a need to push the buttons in the first place!? If you truly loathe it here, then move. That's not to be rude, but seriously if I lived in a place that I thought was run by convert operations, spy's, soldiers, embezzlers, thieves and lier's then I would run like hell to the nearest 2+ acre plot of land and build my own compound. Fortunately i have met only wonderful people (in real life) in this community. In just a few short months I have made friends that I talk to in some form or fashion just about everyday. My son has made friends, his school is awesome. I seriously have no major complaints. Look deep inside of you and think HARD. Just how unhappy are you....really? If you ARE truly unhappy, are you absolutely sure its the fault of where you live or could it be how you live? This is NOT NOT NOT to start trouble or more fights. I'm only typing this in hopes it makes some of us stop and think about what we do have and thank God for it. Its so exhausting be angry. It's way more fun being happy and laughing. God Bless! Nursey

We do not hate our community, on the contrary. We as homeowners deserve to know what is going on in our community and are asking questions. It is our right and it doesn't matter if we volunteer or not. Most of us volunteer in some capacity or another whether it be at school, hospitals, scouts, etc.... Even if we did not, we still have our rights as homeowners to know about the financials, Woodland Springs Foundation, roads.

Please refrain from making personal attacks or responding to them. It only encourages the trouble makers to post even more.

I never said you guys didn't volunteer, but I do have to say that often you imply that you do not like where you live. If its that easy for so many think that, then perhaps discussing good things about our community will offset some of the bad....
I will however, agree that we should get in depth financial records on where our home owner dues are going. I too want to know where our money is going and who our contractors are and if bids are ever taken before contracts are signed and are we getting the best for our buck etc. There is a 100 dollars (feeder money for a better word) that is paid when we buy (that fee is given each time a home is sold no matter how many times) ...where is that money? If VOWS has to sell 100% of the lots to turn over our HOA to us, then what prevents the developer from holding on to just 1 lot to keep control.
These are very legitimate questions and I would love answers to them also. Yup the roads issue is my top issue too. My issue with these questions is that although most of us agree that we need accountability for our HOA dues, the forums are NOT the place for this. No one on the websites, VOWS, here or the other knows jack about the books..atleast not the details we seek. None of us have answers and berating people over questions like these do not do any good. Its unfair and its demoralizing to the community.
These issues MUST be brought to the developer as he is the one who gets our dues and spends them as he sees fit. Please lets ALL attend the meeting on Dec 13th!!! Its of the utmost importance. That is all I've been trying to say...that so many of the questions (and bash me if you want but a prime example of this is ant3s incessant repeating of the same questions that no one can answer and that so many have tried to explain) that just bring everyone down and make our community look as if we fight amongst each other.
Honestly if we think about it, its us fighting, but were really mad at the HOA, no each other. Frustrated and no where "solid" to take the frustration out. I hate to say it, but someone with a legal background needs to take a look at the books, the bylaws the rules and the fact that 100% of the sites must be sold and see where we as homeowners have any rights anywhere at all, now or even in the future. These are legit questions. (no I'm not saying your other questions are not legit, but take answers like I don't know to heart, perhaps they do not know....)
The foundation is a private organization and at this time it would appear up to Pauline what she wants to divulge, she is a hard worker and volunteer and deserves our applause and hasn't done anything to deserve our scrutiny, at least not mine. If you just have to ask her questions about it, its probably best to email her a quick search and you should get it.
Seriously, I would love to come together as a community and in an adult, level headed way and seek and find the answers we need in the most direct path...the developer himself.

"The foundation is a private organization and at this time it would appear up to Pauline what she wants to divulge"
I think Pauline is a positive force in the community. However, she is attempting to switch her biz from a sole proprietorship which she named Vows Foundation into a non-profit. If she requests donations for her foundation and especially if she gets non-profit status then her "books" and other info need to be readily available for public view. Pauline posted a while back the details of what she is planning to do. I have no problem with it. Pauline's hard work doesnt mean her foundation is untouchable and cant be questioned. I think its every homeowners right to ask questions about anything they want to.

She's pretty straight forward, I'm sure if there was any money in her books she'd share the info Give her a bit of time, she just started this (again to help out the community) I agree she is awesome, just watching her at the festival made me tired! lol When it comes to good people like Pauline, I fear that the constant scrutiny and being under a microscope will just make them quit. Wouldn't you? I know if i was busting butt for a lot of people who didn't appreciate me, I'd quit. I know I would be hard pressed maxing out a credit card in hopes that the developer came thru with his donation to the festival, but she did it. I still don't know if she got paid back. Seems to me like things I'm saying are being taken out of context (even tho having been up for 24 hours straight after working all night, I'm pretty eloquent hahah...) Nothing I've said toward anyone in my last couple of posts is a bash, i swear it. I seriously just want this community to come together.

Funny how writing styles give people away, myself included, eh jalapenoone (one of the Yahoo Groups moderators). It's great that you haven't banned anyone yet. As the membership grows and you have more diverse opinions within the group, however, you will eventually be faced with that type of decision...happens with every web discussion group I have ever been involved with. You can count on one hand the number of people banned from the woodlandsprings.com website, including three users whose posts were obscene, full of vulgarity or posts such as "I found your cat" followed by a post with a picture of a kitten in a microwave. Considering that the site has over 1700 registered users, banning approximately 0.3% of them sure doesn't seem like that many. As for "if the moderators don't like you you get banned," this is not true. All violated the posted Terms of Service, as tchokoev points out. You might not agree with the decision, but it takes 5 people to agree to ban a user. As for multi-family, did anyone see the two articles in the Keller Citizen yesterday (one about the developments, one about the roads)? Interesting how the developer of The Bridges At Woodland Springs predicts construction will start in the spring when the property isn't zoned for mixed retail/residential use and the plat has not been approved yet by the Plan Commission. Anyway, time to go watch NAVY BEAT ARMY!

Again, I support Pauline and her intentions for the "foundation" but I also support those who question it even though they themselves may or may not be a volunteer for the community.

::)I wasn't aware that anyone had been denied access to the site. I've looked around in there, as well. Just seems like some homeowners that are ready to get some answers, at last. Anyone else know of someone that's been denied access? Just wondering.
